Information for Visiting Preachers
If you are visiting us soon, we would like to tell you about our church and the service you will be taking.
During the service there will be time for up to five hymns or songs.
In addition to Hymns and Psalms,
Sing Hallelujah (1997 edition) and
Songs and Hymns of Fellowship (1989 edition),
words and music for almost any other contemporary hymn or worship song can be made available (given prior notice).
All are covered by our CCL licence.
You will be contacted a few days before your visit by
regarding your choice and she will liaise with your organist. If you wish to let her know earlier please telephone her on Guildford.
or email her by clicking on her name.
Readers and prayer leaders are also available during the latter part of the service. Could you please tell Evelyn your chosen bible readings in good time together with the theme you have in mind for the service at least a week beforehand.
The Bible in the pews is the ‘Good News Bible’.
The service books we have available are the old 1975/84 blue covered edition
and also the new communion section of The Methodist Worship Book (pink cover) which has pages 114 to 234 ONLY from the full book.
Our services has the use of a PA system (upto 16 tracks available) which can play cassettes. It has two radio microphones and some on stands.
We make full use of our computer projector which is based on Windows XP and uses ZionWorx as its front end. This enables us to project the song and hymn words, from our large database, and also to follow the readings from the 'Good News' bible only. The use of PowerPoint presentations for sermon, or other sections of the service, is run from the ZionWorx program directly. This enables us to have more control of the service, being able to alter the sequence of event as we go.
If you require more information about this please email
your questions or Skype Me
We also have an overhead projector available for lower tech illustration purposes.
We hope this information is useful and we look forward to your visit.
